Notes from the Road: What's Hot now at Colonial Tin Works, Inc.
Notes from the road is written by Sue Trollinger, customer service at Colonial Tin Works, Inc.
We are so pleased with the turnout at our summer shows and the positive reactions to our new products. We met lots of new customers and saw many old ones.
As predicted, the Dallas folks loved the
Recipe Book Holders and all of the star products. It was so fun seeing an old customer who had previously purchased our
Large Hoosier Pumpkin Jars for her wine tastings. She fills the jars with ice and places her favorite bottle in the jar. When we saw her this year, she bought more! We have heard from other customers who have also tried this use; it seems to be catching on!
Valley forge and Atlanta were also great shows. The
Inspirational Wax Warmers and
Night Lights were on the top ten list. The sayings and sentiments were well-received and fun. They are a great way to add light and fragrance to almost any room, and they fit in with a wide range of styles.
A customer favorite is our new
Scroll Recipe Book Holder. We offer this item in two different finishes and styles, and our customers loved both. We all love kitchen items, and this functional and sturdy easel transitions from the kitchen to the rest of the home with ease as a frame holder, book display, and more.
The Philadelphia gift show was phenomenal. Customers loved our new
aged tin finish. Customers love the durability and the color; it reminds them of the old pewter-colored finish we used to carry.
Customers at all the shows also can't say enough about our
Large Paul Revere Lamps. They were a big hit last show season, and they are still selling strong. We have introduced them in two new finishes, and these two foot tall lanterns were a huge hit in Kansas City. Don't forget our large brackets to go with these lanterns. They make a big impression hanging on a wall or sitting on a porch.
The
Christmas Tree Card Stand stood out from the crowd at the shows. We had almost as many comments about it as we did ideas on how to use it: as a photo holder, business card caddy, and seasonal item for Easter, July the 4th, and other holidays. The one thing that everyone agreed on was that this Christmas card holder was not just for Christmas cards.
Our
bird feeders got lots of praise. Customers loved the finishes and the glass cylinders. We have just introduced our feeders in a durable aged tin finish. The slick glass keeps the squirrels off the feeder and adds a high-quality feel to the items. We are getting lots of re-orders for these great feeders!
It is always wonderful seeing our old customers and meeting new ones. I hope to see you on the road!
